FTUI Welcomes a Visit from Universiti Sains Malaysia

FTUI once again hosted a visit from an international university, this time welcoming Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). The visit took place on Wednesday (15/05) at i-CELL. The delegation consisted of 20 undergraduate and postgraduate students, along with 7 staff members and lecturers.

USM conducted its International Mobility Visit program by visiting Indonesia for five days, from May 14, 2024, to May 18, 2024. FTUI was the first destination of USM’s program. Following their visit to FTUI, USM planned to visit the Indonesia Rubber Research Centre and the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).

“We extend a warm welcome to the students, lecturers, and staff of Universiti Sains Malaysia. We are very pleased with this visit. We hope that in the future, there will be intense cooperation and communication between USM and FTUI,” said Prof. Dr. Mochamad Chalid, S.Si., M.Sc.Eng., a lecturer from the Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, in his welcoming speech.

After the welcome speech, there was a presentation about FTUI’s profile, followed by the exchange of gifts. The visiting participants then toured the i-CELL to view the exhibitions and laboratories. The event concluded with a group photo session.

On a separate occasion, the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU, stated, “We are delighted with USM’s visit. This could be the starting point for establishing cooperation between FTUI and USM. I hope this meeting will broaden the perspectives of both universities and encourage USM students to consider studying at FTUI.”
