The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), welcomed a visit from the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH) on Tuesday (April 22) at the Dean’s Building, FTUI Depok. During the visit, FTUI and KITECH discussed potential collaborations in education and research and introduced KITECH to FTUI students. The discussion took place in the Senate Room, while a presentation about KITECH was held in the Smart Meeting Room.
Opening the session, the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., introduced the attending FTUI delegates to the KITECH representatives. Attendees from FTUI included the Head of the Interdisciplinary Engineering Research Unit, Prof. Dr. Ir. Widodo Wahyu Purwanto, DEA; Manager of Student Affairs and Alumni, Dr.rer.pol. Ir. Romadhani Ardi, S.T., M.T.; Manager of Cooperation, Ventures, and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Muhamad Sahlan, S.Si., M.Eng.; Secretary of the Interdisciplinary Engineering Research Unit, Prof. Dr. Ir. Akhmad Herman Yuwono, M.Phil.Eng; Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Prof. Dr.Eng. Arief Udhiarto, S.T., M.T., IPU; and Representative of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dr.-Ing. Ridho Irwansyah, S.T., M.T.
“Our vision is to become an excellent engineering faculty with global competitiveness and a real impact on society. This is a perfect opportunity to establish a collaboration between FTUI and KITECH,” stated Prof. Kemas.
Lee Sang Mok, President of KITECH, also said: “Since 2015, FTUI and KITECH have maintained a long-standing collaboration marked by the establishment of KIRC. We hope today’s discussion can enhance our institutional collaboration towards a more sustainable partnership. We also look forward to building a brighter future together.”
In addition to the discussions, the KITECH delegates visited several FTUI facilities, including the Manufacturing Research Center (MRC) Building, the Integrated Creative Engineering Learning Lab (I-CELL), and the Interdisciplinary Engineering (IDE) Building. Simultaneously, other delegates conducted a presentation about KITECH in the Smart Meeting Room. The event concluded with One-on-One Interviews between FTUI students and researchers from KITECH.
