The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), welcomed a visit from Meiko Career and its industry partners during a Cooperation Coordination Meeting held at the Senate Meeting Room, FTUI Dean Building (April 24). The meeting marked the initial step toward strengthening international collaboration in education and career development for FTUI students.
Representatives from Meiko Career Partners, Ms. Zakky Fathimah and Mr. Yuta Konishi, as well as representatives from Japanese companies, Mr. Seigo Aoki from Seino Unyu and Ms. Hanako Yamaguchi from Satsudora Holdings, attended the meeting.
During the discussion, Seino Unyu, a logistics company, expressed interest in recruiting FTUI graduates. The company is developing advanced technologies, including drones and artificial intelligence (AI), to improve logistics efficiency. Seino Unyu believes that FTUI graduates hold strong potential to contribute to developing these technologies.
Meanwhile, Meiko Career offered a free Japanese language course program for FTUI students. This initiative is expected to enhance students’ competitiveness in pursuing career opportunities with Japanese companies.
Dr. Muhamad Sahlan, S.Si., M.Eng., Manager of Cooperation, Ventures, and Entrepreneurship, also said, “We see this as a strategic step to open access for our students to the international job market, particularly in Japan. The free Japanese language course will strengthen their soft skills. At the same time, direct recruitment opportunities from technology-driven logistics companies like Seino Unyu align closely with FTUI’s commitment to innovation and global collaboration. We hope this partnership will grow into internship programs, joint research, and broader knowledge exchange.”
This visit is part of FTUI’s ongoing efforts to expand its international network and provide students with direct access to global career opportunities. Hopefully, this cooperation will further develop into internship, recruitment, and joint research programs.
