Thursday, June 2, 2022, for the second time, the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia under the Education Modernization and Internationalization Unit has held a Hybrid Talk Show & Open House FTUI International Class Program. This time, the International Class Program Open House collaborated with the International Program Student Association (IMPI) FTUI in order to provide a deeper picture of the International Class Program information in the FTUI environment and invite students from several schools in the Greater Jakarta area to take part in a series of events individually.
This activity was opened with remarks from the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU. and also presented several speakers, namely the Head of the FTUI Education Modernization and Internationalization Unit, Prof. Dr. Ir. Harinaldi, M.Eng., Head of the International Program Student Association (IMPI) FTUI, Fadhli Adwani, Head of PMB UI Office, Dr. Gunawan, ST., MT., Manager of Public Communication and General Administration of FTUI, Tikka Anggraeni, S.Sos., M.Sc., CPR. and department heads within FTUI.
“FTUI is committed to modernizing engineering education and internationalizing education in Indonesia. One form of this commitment is the opening of the International Class Undergraduate Program. Where the International Class Undergraduate Program is intended to produce engineers who are not only able to compete at the local or national level in Indonesia but are also able to compete at the regional and international levels,” said Prof. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU.
The first session started with a presentation related to the International Class Program by the Head of the FTUI Education Modernization and Internationalization Unit. In his presentation, Prof. Dr. Ir. Harinaldi, M.Eng. said, “FTUI aspires to become an engineering institution that can excel and globally can play a role in improving the welfare of the world’s people’s lives, one of which is by developing an International Class Program.”
This was followed by a presentation related to student activities by the Head of the International Program Student Association (IMPI) FTUI. In his presentation, Fadhli Adwani said, “The International Program Student Association (IMPI) accommodates student interests and talents, not only getting international experience when we go abroad (exchange), in Indonesia we hold gatherings by gathering foreign students to get to know each other and exchange thought.”
The second session was continued with a Talk Show related to the FTUI International Class Program by the Department Leaders within the FTUI environment and a presentation on New Student Admission by the Head of the PMB UI Office, Dr. Gunawan, S.T., M. T. In his presentation, Dr. Gunawan, S.T., M. T., said “FTUI has a quota of 241 for prospective International Class students, 96 quotas for talent scouting selection and 145 quotas for SIMAK KKI selection.”
The last session of the Hybrid Talk Show & Open House FTUI International Class Program continued with discussions and questions and answers regarding the administration of the International Class program registration and was closed by the distribution of door prizes for the participants.
