The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Indonesia (FTUI) once again forged collaboration with the industrial world through the event Indocement Back to Campus 2025, held on Tuesday (June 17) in the Smart Meeting Room, FTUI Dean’s Building. The event aimed to introduce PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa more closely to FTUI students and alumni, as well as to provide insights into the working world, especially in the cement industry sector and alternative energy.
The event was opened with remarks from Dr.-Ing. Ir. Dalhar Susanto as Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration at FTUI. Also present was Dr. Muhamad Sahlan, S.Si., M.Eng., Manager of Cooperation, Venture, and Entrepreneurship at FTUI.
“We greatly appreciate the presence of today’s speakers, who not only come as professionals from Indocement but also as proud alumni of FTUI. Events like this are very important for us, because they not only provide insight into how industry operates and innovates, but also open up space for dialogue and career inspiration which are very much needed by our students,” said Dr. Dalhar in his remarks.
In this activity, PT Indocement presented three main speakers who are FTUI alumni and now hold strategic positions in the company, namely Elman Rudolf Pakpahan (Deputy General Manager Operation), Yanto Supriyatna (Supply Chain Strategic Planning & Evaluation Manager), and M. Angga Kusuma (Department Head, Alternative Fuel & Material Sourcing).
They shared firsthand experiences in building careers in the industry, particularly in operations, supply chain planning, as well as sustainability initiatives through the use of alternative fuels and materials. The presence of alumni as speakers was a particular draw for participants because they could provide real and relevant perspectives regarding career readiness.
Through their presentations, participants gained deeper understanding of Indocement’s business processes, the challenges in the manufacturing sector, as well as the skills and mindset necessary to contribute professionally in that industry.
Not only providing information, the event also forms part of Indocement’s strategic effort to strengthen its relationship with academia, especially FTUI, through potential long-term cooperation in recruitment, human resource development, and knowledge exchange.
The enthusiasm of participants was very visible, both those who attended in person and those who followed via the Zoom platform. This was evident during the Q&A session, where participants took advantage of the opportunity to delve deeper into career opportunities, industry challenges, up to the personal experiences of the speakers.
