The Regional Board of Real Estate Indonesia (DPD REI), in collaboration with the Real Estate Academy, held a Sharing Session with participants of the Real Estate Executive Program Batch 5 on November 18. The event, held at Building S of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia (FTUI), featured several speakers from DPD REI, including the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU., as a guest speaker.
This edition of the Real Estate Academy consisted of various events. It started with presentations from several guest speakers from DPD REI and the Dean of FTUI, as well as presentations from the participants of the Executive Program regarding their learning outcomes during the program. Some of the themes addressed by the program participants included Mindset and platform Real Estate Business, Policy of the Real Estate Industry in Indonesia, Finance and capital Management, Project Accounting, Business Plan, Project Management, and many more.
During this session, Prof. Heri shared various experiences in his career journey at FTUI, leading up to his current role as the Dean of FTUI. “Sometimes, when facing an opportunity, it’s like buying fruit. We don’t know if this project is ripe or not until we try. It means that all knowledge and experience must be applied. And we must be open to new opportunities,” explained Prof. Heri.
In his concluding remarks, Prof. Heri made a comparison of how Japanese leaders led their country. He mentioned names like Nobunaga, Toyotomi, and Tokugawa. “Which type of leadership succeeded? We can’t answer that. All succeeded in their time. This is related to leadership. How do we achieve the ultimate goal we aim for? We need to develop a leadership model that suits the characteristics we possess.”
The Real Estate Academy is an organization formed by DPD REI DKI Jakarta aimed at providing solutions for members of REI DKI Jakarta and non-member business practitioners to enhance their abilities and productivity through training programs, workshops, and seminars. The activities of the Real Estate Academy are targeted at developers, state-owned property companies, financing/banking institutions, property consultants, and the general public who have a desire to understand the real estate business.
