Students of the Industrial Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), held the PTI Exhibition 2025 (Industrial Capstone Project Exhibition) as the culmination of the implementation of Project-Based Learning in collaboration with PT MRT Jakarta. The exhibition took place on Monday (15/12) at the Engineering Center, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia.
PTI Exhibition 2025 showcased a wide range of innovative products and system designs developed to address real-world challenges in urban transportation, particularly in supporting MRT Jakarta services. Through the Capstone Design course, students integrated academic knowledge with industry needs by emphasizing inclusive and sustainable design approaches. Each project was developed comprehensively, encompassing concept design, system modeling, virtual prototyping, and implementation planning.
The various innovations on display reflected students’ strong awareness of accessibility, passenger comfort, energy efficiency, and environmental sustainability in public spaces. These innovations included solutions to improve accessibility for persons with disabilities, technology-based passenger information systems, and environmentally friendly public facility designs oriented toward user experience. All projects were developed through a collaborative process involving user needs analysis and an in-depth understanding of MRT Jakarta’s operational context.
Through PTI Exhibition 2025, the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia reaffirmed its commitment to producing graduates who excel not only academically but also in delivering innovative, applicable, and impactful solutions for society. The exhibition also served as a platform for members of the academic community, industry partners, and the general public to directly witness the contributions of UI Industrial Engineering students in driving more inclusive and sustainable urban transportation transformation.
One of the products that attracted significant attention was Railease – Boarding Ramp System, an automated ramp designed to enhance MRT passenger accessibility, particularly for wheelchair users, passengers with strollers, and the elderly. Railease is installed directly on the platform and can be operated with a single button to bridge the gap and height difference between the platform and train doors. Featuring a robust aluminum structure and an anti-slip rubber surface, the system enables passengers to board and alight independently, safely, and comfortably without the need to wait for assistance from station staff.
As a complement to the exhibition, visitors can also access the PTI 2025 Product Catalog, which provides comprehensive explanations of each innovation, via the following link: bit.ly/KatalogProdukPTI2025.
