To maintain the competency of K3 (Occupational Health and Safety) experts within FTUI, the Academic Quality Assurance Unit of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (UPMA FTUI), organized a General K3 Expert (AK3U) Refreshment Training at the FTUI S Building (30/07). The training was attended by FTUI’s certified General K3 Experts and prospective General K3 Experts, aiming to refresh their understanding of K3 Management System (SMK3) regulations and implementation and to provide an initial understanding of the relevant regulations for the prospective General K3 Experts.
During the training, Muhamad Dawaman, MKKK, an expert at PT. Astrindo Sentosa Kesuma, presented material related to the regulations governing SMK3 implementation in Indonesia and case studies on SMK3 implementation in both industry and UI. Additionally, the speaker discussed how to identify risks and hazards that General K3 Experts must understand.
“Through this General K3 Expert (AK3U) Refreshment Training, it is expected that participants will gain an understanding of the regulatory material and SMK3 implementation, which is a prerequisite for renewing the licenses of FTUI’s General K3 Experts expiring this year,” said Santoso Jokowaluyo, S.T., Coordinator of FTUI’s Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment (K3L).
Prof. Dr. Ir. Winarto, M.Sc., Head of the Academic Quality Assurance Unit, emphasized, “This General K3 Expert Refreshment Training is highly beneficial in updating the knowledge of FTUI’s General K3 Experts. I hope this training will enhance their competence in performing their duties and serve as motivation for prospective General K3 Experts to continue learning and developing in the field of K3.”
Acting Dean of FTUI, Prof. Ir. Mahmud Sudibandriyo, MSc., Ph.D., added, “This refreshment training is part of our commitment at the Faculty of Engineering UI to continuously maintain and improve the competency of K3 Experts in our environment. With regularly updated knowledge, we are confident that our K3 experts will be able to perform their duties better and be more responsive to the latest developments in the field of occupational health and safety.”
Muhamad Dawaman, MKKK, is an expert at PT. Astrindo Sentosa Kesuma, one of the K3 service providers registered with the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower (KEMENAKER RI). He is currently registered as a General K3 Expert, Construction K3 Expert, Accident Investigator, and SMK3 Auditor, certified by the National Professional Certification Agency and the Ministry of Manpower.
