The chairman of the MPR RI who is also the deputy chairman of the Golkar Party, Bambang Soesatyo met the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah (23/6) to explore cooperation between the MPR RI and the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia (FTUI), especially in the fields of education, research, and various other developments. In the field of education, for example, FTUI provides opportunities for members of the MPR RI and employees within the Secretariat General of the MPR RI to take Masters education, as well as opening opportunities for various groups in the MPR RI to take the engineering profession program.
Bambang Soesatyo also conveyed his support for UI and FTUI to be consistent in conducting research in the field of developing electric vehicles. “MPR RI supports FT UI to remain consistent in conducting research in the field of electric vehicle development. Starting from the design of vehicle models, drive systems (electric motors), cooling systems (air conditioning), to electric battery components. As a form of support for the MPR RI for sovereignty The nation in the automotive sector is maintained, so we don’t have to rely on imports to meet various needs for electric vehicles from upstream to downstream,” said Bamsoet.
At the meeting, Dean Heri explained that researchers who are members of the Research Center for Advanced Vehicles (RCAVe) of the UI Faculty of Engineering have since 2014 started converting urban electric vehicles. As a result, on June 10, 2022, UI has symbolically handed over its electric bus to the Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi.
