Faculty of Engineering Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) welcomed a visit from the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) which took place at the FTUI Senate Room (04/10). The delegation from NTUST was represented by Prof. Chen-Hao Wang the Vice Dean of the NTUST Faculty of Engineering. The delegation was received by Prof. Ir. Mahmud Sudibandriyo, M.Sc., Ph.D. as the Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures and General Administration of FTUI.
In his speech, Prof Mahmud said, “Cross-country cooperation in the academic field is one of the things we focus on at FTUI. Therefore, to be able to establish a further partnership with NTUST is a step that we are looking forward to, a university that also has an outstanding reputation in the field of science and technology.”
Previously, NTUST had visited FTUI intending to extend the existing master and doctoral cooperation contracts. This time, NTUST returned to FTUI to explore opportunities for S1 double-degree cooperation, especially in the Electrical Engineering study programme. NTUST also offers scholarships for FTUI master and doctoral students on the overcome the issue of human resource shortages in Taiwan.
In addition to discussing academic cooperation, on the same day NTUST also organised a student recruitment held at Makara 04 Smart Meeting Room FTUI. The purpose of this activity is to give FTUI students the opportunity to take part in the NTUST scholarship selection interview session, as well as open the door for them to pursue higher education in Taiwan.
“This meeting is a concrete step in strengthening the cooperation between FTUI and NTUST, which is expected to bring great benefits to both universities and produce a competent and globally competitive generation. This collaboration can also create better educational opportunities for students of both universities,” said Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU.
Also attending as delegates from the Faculty of Engineering NTUST were: Prof. Iman Adipurnama, Prof. Wei-Hsin Tien, Prof. Jhong-Ren Huang, Prof. Chun-Tao Chen, Prof. Tzu-Jen Lin, Prof. Sendren Sheng-Dong Xu, Prof. Yung-Yao Chen, Prof. Yung-Chih Chen, Prof. Shih-Fan Chou, Prof. Chung-An Shen, and Ms. Enci Wu.
Prof Mahmud was accompanied by Dr.-Ing. Ir. Dalhar Susanto, FTUI Manager of Cooperation, Ventures and Alumni, Dr. Ajib Setyo Arifin, S.T., M.T., Manager of Human Resources and Facilities, along with several Unit Secretaries, Heads of Departments, and Department Secretaries including Dr. Deni Ferdian, S.T., M.Sc., Dr. Imam Jauhari Maknun, S.T., M.T., M.Sc., Fadhilah Muslim S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., DIC., Dr. Abdul Halim, M.Eng, and Dr. Dianursanti, S.T., M.T..
