On Wednesday (29/05), FTUI hosted a mini-workshop titled “Inspiring Young Leaders in Sustainable Development.” The workshop, organized by PT Jaya Obayashi, took place in the MRPQ Auditorium, FTUI. There were four speakers at this event, namely Tatsuhiko Miyashita as the GM of Mechanical Electrical, Yosuke Minami as the ME Senior Engineer of DC, Rina Ambarwati as the HR & GA Department representative, and Nayara Nabila as the UI Alumnus 2016 and MEP Coordinator.
The workshop was opened by Prof. Ir. Mahmud Sudibandriyo, M.Sc., Ph.D., as the Vice Dean for Resources, Venture, and General Administration. He said, “PT Jaya Obayashi has been part of our country’s development. Therefore, we are delighted to collaborate with PT Jaya Obayashi. Hopefully, through this mini-workshop, participants can gain insights into job opportunities offered by PT Jaya Obayashi.”
The first session of the workshop was conducted by Rina. She introduced PT Jaya Obayashi to all workshop participants. Rina stated, “PT Jaya Obayashi was established on January 25, 1892, by Yoshigoro Obayashi. Until now, PT Jaya Obayashi has 20 branches with 300 staff. Recruitment of PT Jaya Obayashi staff is done through four methods: online job portals, campus hiring, scholarships, and work in Japan.”
Next, Yosuke delivered a presentation to the participants. Yosuke said, “As workers, we are required to have smart minds. Not only that, we also need to have a good heart because we have to coordinate with many parties.”
Meanwhile, Miyashita introduced the M&E Department and his team members. “In the M&E Department of PT Jaya Obayashi, there are the Design Division, Estimation Division, Construction Division, and Administration Division,” said Miyashita.
The last speaker, Nayara, explained her journey from receiving a scholarship from PT Jaya Obayashi to her career advancement in the company. “I used to see PT Jaya Obayashi staff recruitment on campus bulletin boards, then I tried to apply for the scholarship and thankfully I was accepted. I have been in MEP Design, MEP Field Supervisor, MEP CX Officer, and Assistant MEP Planner positions,” Nayara shared.
On a separate occasion, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU., as the Dean of FTUI, expressed, “I would like to express my gratitude to PT Jaya Obayashi for organizing this mini workshop. FTUI is very open to companies that want to collaborate with us. I hope the participants can make the most of the opportunities offered by PT Jaya Obayashi.”
