Universitas Indonesia (UI) welcomed an official visit from delegates of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Perak and Sarawak Branches as part of an effort to enhance academic cooperation and strengthen synergy among higher education institutions in the ASEAN region (6/5).
The event commenced with a warm welcome from Prof. Dr. Ir. Yanuar, M.Eng., M.Sc., Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering UI (FTUI), followed by remarks from Dr. Asniza Hamimi Abdul Tharim, Director of the UiTM Perak-UI Collaboration Program. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of cross-border collaboration in broadening perspectives and enriching learning experiences for students and faculty members.
“We truly appreciate and warmly welcome the courtesy visit from UiTM Perak and Sarawak. This moment marks an important milestone in strengthening the collaboration between two higher education institutions with a common vision in academic development and cross-border knowledge exchange. We hope this visit opens wider opportunities for collaboration, from joint teaching and collaborative research to future student exchange programs,” said Prof. Dr. Ir. Yanuar, M.Eng., M.Sc., Vice Dean of FTUI.
The next session featured Sr Dr. Hajah Noraziah Wahi, Director of the UiTM Sarawak-UI Collaboration Program and Coordinator of the Collaborative Group Collaborative Teaching. She hoped this partnership would evolve into a joint teaching program with significant and sustainable impact.
“We are deeply grateful for the warm welcome from Universitas Indonesia. We believe that strong academic collaboration will bring many benefits, not only to our institutions but also to students and faculty members. We hope this initiative will continue to grow into a shared learning platform that is deep, transformative, and sustainable,” said Sr Dr. Hajah Noraziah Wahi.
The event concluded with a souvenir exchange from UiTM Perak to Universitas Indonesia, symbolizing friendship and a commitment to harmonious collaboration in the future.
Through this visit, it is hoped that the synergy between UI and UiTM will grow stronger in establishing a strategic partnership for inclusive, collaborative, and internationally recognized education.
