Opening Ceremony of Enterns 2025: Nurturing a Generation of Young Technopreneurs through the Business Innovation Competition

The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) officially launched the Enterns 2025 Business Innovation Competition series through an Opening Ceremony held on Tuesday, July 16, 2025. This program is part of the Technopreneur Camp, a flagship initiative by FTUI in collaboration with the Wadhwani Foundation, an international non-profit organization dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship and global education ecosystems.

The Enterns 2025 program is the result of a strategic partnership between FTUI and the Wadhwani Foundation. Through an experiential learning approach, participants are guided to create innovative solutions, build sustainable business models, and prepare themselves to compete within the industrial ecosystem of the future.

The event was officially opened by Prof. Dr. Ir. Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan, M.Sc., Dean of FTUI, who expressed his high appreciation for the enthusiasm of the participants and the dedication of the organizing committee in realizing this program. “Programs like Enterns 2025 serve as an essential platform for cultivating a technopreneurial mindset among engineering students. FTUI students must be able to create solutions not only in the technical realm but also with social impact and economic value in mind. I believe that from this program will emerge the future innovators and entrepreneurs of Indonesia,” said Prof. Kemas.

As the Chair of Enterns 2025, Fawaz Alfiansyah also delivered his remarks during the ceremony. In his speech, he emphasized that the Technopreneur Camp is not merely a competition but a continuous learning process. “We want participants not only to focus on winning but to go through the entire mentoring process with enthusiasm for learning and collaboration. We believe that every mentoring session will generate extraordinary ideas capable of addressing real-world challenges,” said Fawaz.

The program offers numerous benefits for participants, including the opportunity to earn academic credit conversions (SKS), cash prizes of up to IDR 30 million, and exclusive company visits for finalists. Throughout the process, participants will undergo three stages of mentoring and present their outcomes during the Final Pitch, which will take place at the end of August.

This year’s theme, “Beyond Capital: Building Resilient Industries & Infrastructure for Indonesia with the Target of SDG 9,” encourages participants to think beyond capital and focus on developing resilient and sustainable industries and infrastructure.

Through the Technopreneur Camp, FTUI once again demonstrates its role as an educational institution that excels not only in academics and research but also in nurturing a new generation of engineerpreneurs—engineers who innovate, create, and make real contributions to the nation.
