The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), once again demonstrated its appeal as one of the leading faculties at Universitas Indonesia by actively participating in the UI Open Days 2025 event held over the weekend, Saturday and Sunday, May 3–4, 2025. The event occurred at Balairung and Balai Sidang, UI Campus in Depok, drawing thousands of participants from various regions across Indonesia.
Director of Public Relations, Media, Government, and International Affairs at UI and Chairperson of UI Open Days 2025, Prof. Arie Afriansyah, S.H., M.I.L., Ph.D., stated in his opening remarks, “UI Open Days is a regular agenda aimed at introducing study programs at all levels across Faculties, Schools, and Vocational programs. We hope that UI Open Days 2025 will serve as an accessible source of information for prospective Universitas Indonesia students.”
In a separate statement, Prof. Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., Dean of FTUI, expressed his appreciation for the event. “We greatly appreciate the overwhelming enthusiasm shown by more than 17,000 participants who attended UI Open Days over the two days. This is a reflection of the trust and interest that we truly value. UI Open Days is a crucial moment to introduce the spirit of collaboration, the diversity of study programs, and the self-development opportunities we offer, including through our International Special Class (KKI). We also provide a space for discussion and consultation to help prospective students make informed decisions aligned with their interests and aspirations,” he said.
The FTUI booth was crowded with visitors eager to consult. The high level of enthusiasm was evident from participants who wanted to learn more about study programs, admission pathways, student activities, and career prospects for FTUI graduates. Prospective students, parents, and accompanying teachers actively participated in the interactive and informative consultation sessions.
UI Open Days 2025 featured a variety of activities, including educational program presentations, Q&A sessions with speakers from various faculties, and consultation sessions on choosing majors and careers. At Balai Sidang, participants also received information about the International Special Class (KKI), one of FTUI’s flagship programs.
The Faculty of Engineering UI’s presentation session was held on Sunday (May 4), delivered by Tikka Anggraeni, S.Sos., M.Si., CPR., FTUI’s Manager of Public Communication and General Administration. “FTUI currently manages a professional engineering program for all undergraduate programs except architecture and interior architecture, which have their own professional programs. Don’t worry, FTUI also offers a fast-track program where undergraduate students can continue directly to a master’s degree within just five years. This program has been running for some time at FTUI. We are also very proud that from 2023 to 2025, based on the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, the Faculty of Engineering is recognized as the best engineering school in Indonesia.”
In addition, UI Open Days offered a campus tour using the iconic yellow bus (bikun), UI’s on-campus transportation, allowing participants to explore the campus firsthand. Participants were introduced to campus life, including academic facilities, student dormitories, and student activity centers.
