PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) Targets Young Talent from FTUI Through College Shopping

On Tuesday, January 9, 2023, PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) conducted a Courtesy Visit to the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), with the primary aim of organizing College Shopping. The PT KPI delegation, consisting of Dewi Kurnia Salwa (Vice President of Human Capital), Yulianto (Manager of HC Operation), and Ibu Dewi Elok (Analyst Recruitment), was received by the Career Development Center (CDC) FTUI.

College shopping is a recruitment process initiated by PT KPI, collaborating with specific universities, with specific requirements to identify the best talents or high-flyers. This process is designed to meet the needs of filling positions or supporting project fulfilment accurately and effectively.

Ventura, the Manager of Cooperation, and Dr.-Ing. Ir. Dalhar Susanto, an alumnus, welcomed this opportunity, stating, “We are very open and ready to meet these needs. Pertamina is one of FTUI’s closest partners, and we highly appreciate the collaborations established in various fields. This formed partnership serves as a strong foundation for both the company and the university to continue benefiting each other.”

In this college shopping initiative, PT KPI is targeting several study programs at FTUI, namely Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering for the position of Junior Engineer. The recruitment process will be carried out through closed selection based on the recommendation data provided by the Department.

“The recommended names will be limited to a maximum of 100 individuals per department. This opportunity is also open to students who have just completed their graduation, provided they submit a Certificate of Graduation (SKL). This program is a direct approach from PT KPI to engage with our university partners,” expressed Dewi Kurnia, a representative from PT KPI.

PT KPI will then screen the received data. Subsequently, PT KPI will organize Career Days to socialize the procedures and guidelines that need to be observed during recruitment. Several department heads were also present at the meeting, including Dr. Deni Ferdian, S.T., M.Sc.; Dr. Eng. Arief Udhiarto, S.T., M.T.; and Dr. Agus Sunjarianto Pamitran, ST., M.Eng.

In addition to College Shopping, FTUI and PT KPI are exploring other collaboration opportunities, one of which involves the development of advanced studies at FTUI for PT KPI employees. In this discussion, FTUI is offering postgraduate programs with specific courses tailored to the partner company’s field, allowing research conducted by students to be directly applied within the company.

FTUI Dean, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU., stated, “We highly appreciate the initiative from PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) in conducting College Shopping at the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia. Collaborations like these not only open opportunities for students to enter the workforce but also strengthen the bond between the industry and higher education. We are committed to supporting this process and hope that through this collaboration, our students can make meaningful contributions to the company’s development.”
