The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) in collaboration with Kompas Daily held the Kompas 100 CEO Forum: CEO On Stage.The event was held on (21/11/22), at the Mochtar Riady Plaza Quantum Building (MRPQ) of the Department of Electrical Engineering (DTE) FTUI.
This activity is a talk show activity with an interesting discussion, namely Taking Bold Actions Against Climate Crisis, filled with several great speakers, namely the Dean of FTUI Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU., Senior Investment Associate at East Ventures Gavin Adrian, President Director of Adaro Power Dharma Djojonegoro, and Director of Strategic Planning and Business Development of Pertamina NRE Fadli Rahman.
Currently, in dealing with the climate crisis, a concrete step is needed, namely the Energy Transition. However, this step in Indonesia has not been too encouraged. Steps to halt the rate of increase in the earth’s temperature must also be carried out, through the cooperation of various parties. This is to reduce the adverse effects of the climate crisis.
Dean of the UI Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU., said, “In the process of suppressing the high climate crisis through the energy transition, collaboration from various parties is needed. In universities, a lot of research must be carried out, to answer to the transition. energy.”
However, according to Dean Heri, steps such as research in responding to energy transitions will usually stop when the research is completed. For this reason, studies like this need to be considered and sustainable so that they can be the answer to the energy transition.
Then, Senior Investment Associate at East Ventures Gavin Adrian, President Director of Adaro Power Dharma Djojonegoro, and Director of Strategic Planning and Business Development of Pertamina NRE Fadli Rahman, discussed Energy Transition through the shift from the use of fossil energy to new and renewable energy (EBT) which must be carried out and the importance community behavior to use environmentally friendly energy to mitigate the climate crisis.
Through the Kompas 100 CEO Forum: CEO On Stage with the topic of Energy Transition in Mitigating the Climate Crisis, it is hoped that participants will be able to understand priority issues, in this case, climate issues, which cannot be ruled out.
