The Indonesian Real Estate Company Association (REI) officially cooperates with the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (UI) for educational cooperation. FTUI will provide a special REI class for the Engineer Professional Program and Real Estate Specialization in the Multidisciplinary Masters Program in Urban Area Design. The collaboration between the two institutions and associations was marked by the signing of a Letter of Interest in Cooperation.
The signing of the letter of interest for cooperation was carried out by the Chairman of the DPD REI DKI Jakarta Arvin Fibrianto Iskandar with the Dean of the UI Faculty of Engineering Heri Hermansyah at the Regional Work Meeting (Rakernas) REI DKI Jakarta 2022 (9/9/2022). The scope of this letter of interest in cooperation includes short-term and long-term collaboration.
Dean of the Faculty of Engineering UI Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah said the cooperation was carried out based on the mandate of the law related to the engineering profession which must have professional certification. “First, in accordance with the mandate of the law, all jobs related to the engineering engineer profession are required to have that professional certification. At our place, an engineer profession program has been opened and with REI we can open a professional program for a number of prospective engineers from REI.”
Previously, REI and the UI Faculty of Engineering had held a collaboration, namely training for REI members by involving academia, industry, and the government. The scope of future cooperation will include short-term and long-term collaboration. For the short term, namely holding real estate training aimed at understanding the real estate business. Meanwhile, in the long term, it will develop educational programs, namely opening a special engineering professional program class for members of the DKI Jakarta REI and opening a special class for regional and city planning master’s program for members of the DKI Jakarta REI.
Prof. Heri Hermansyah also explained that currently the UI Faculty of Engineering currently has a Masters Program in Wikayah and City Planning which was developed based on specialization related to real estate. It also opens up opportunities for cooperation in developing programs to other degree levels. “Hopefully this can be a start for further cooperation. And hopefully REI DKI Jakarta will always be a superior and impactful institution,” he said.
