Scholarship Opportunities at McKelvey School of Engineering, Washington University in St. Louis for Students and Alumni of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia

On Wednesday (18/9), the International Office of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (IO FTUI), held an Information Session on postgraduate studies at McKelvey School of Engineering, Washington University in St. Louis. The event, which took place in the Smart Meeting Room (SMR) of the FTUI Dean’s Office, was attended by FTUI students and alumni from various programs who were seeking Master’s and PhD scholarship opportunities.

Aaron Bobick, Dean of McKelvey School of Engineering, introduced the campus and the academic programs offered. He highlighted that there are scholarships and funding available for Master’s and Doctoral programs, which graduates of undergraduate programs can apply for. Additionally, there is an International Summer Internship program available for third-year undergraduate students.

Aaron Bobick also emphasized that the Doctoral program at McKelvey provides full funding for the entire 5.5 years of study. “This funding ensures that academics can focus on their research work without worrying about financial needs,” he explained.

Dean Bobick also clarified that during the 5.5-year Doctoral education, scholars will obtain both a Master’s and a PhD degree. Teresa Sarai provided further details about the International Summer Internship program, which is fully funded with a stipend of $7,200 for 10 weeks. FTUI students who are highly motivated to pursue research are encouraged to apply for this program through the FTUI International Office.

In addition to Aaron Bobick, the session was also attended by Vijay Ramani, Vice Provost for Graduate Education and International Affairs at WashU; Grace Chapin James, Assistant Vice Provost and Director of Admissions; and Teresa Sarai, Assistant Dean for International Relations at McKelvey School of Engineering. They were welcomed by Fadhilah Muslim, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., DIC, Head of FTUI’s International Office, and the event was moderated by Zafira R. Ummah, S.Ars., M.Ars., International Mobility Coordinator at FTUI’s International Office.

Prof. Ir. Mahmud Sudibandriyo, M.Sc., Ph.D., Acting Dean of FTUI, expressed his appreciation for the Information Session held by McKelvey School of Engineering, Washington University in St. Louis. “This event is one of FTUI’s initiatives to support its students in obtaining opportunities for further studies and internships in the United States, especially at McKelvey School of Engineering. We hope that this event can serve as a bridge for FTUI and McKelvey School of Engineering to strengthen collaboration between both institutions.”
