The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), has officially signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) for collaboration with the University of Exeter, UK (22/07). This signing marks the beginning of a strategic partnership between the two institutions in the field of engineering. The signing ceremony took place at the University of Exeter campus, attended by high-ranking officials from both universities.
FTUI was represented by the Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Yanuar, M.Eng., M.Sc., accompanied by the Manager of Cooperation, Ventures, and Alumni, Dr.-Ing. Dalhar Susanto, and the Secretary of the Civil Engineering Department, Andyka Kusuma, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D. On the other hand, the University of Exeter was represented by Prof. Voicu Ion Sucala, Chair of Engineering Management and Head of Engineering in the Faculty of Environment, Science, and Economy. Prof. Akbar Javadi, Director of Global Engagement at the University of Exeter, was also present at the event.
In his remarks, Prof. Yanuar expressed his enthusiasm for this collaboration. “We are very hopeful that this partnership will open new opportunities for our students and staff to engage in various international research and projects. This is a significant step in strengthening FTUI’s global network and enhancing the quality of our education and research,” he said.
Prof. Voicu Ion Sucala also shared his views on the importance of this collaboration. “Collaboration with FTUI will enrich our academic and research programs. We believe that the exchange of knowledge and experience with FTUI will greatly benefit both parties,” he stated.
Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU, commented on the collaboration. “The partnership between FTUI and the University of Exeter is a strategic step that will bring many benefits to both institutions. Through this collaboration, we hope to improve the quality of education and research through the exchange of knowledge and technology, as well as expand our international network. I believe that this synergy will result in innovations that will positively contribute to the development of engineering in Indonesia and the UK,” he said.
With this collaboration, it is expected that both institutions can develop various innovative and impactful educational, research, and community service programs. The signing of this LoI is an important milestone in the relationship between FTUI and the University of Exeter and demonstrates both universities’ commitment to creating positive change through education and research.
