Syiar Qurban Faculty of Engineering UI, Residents: We Miss the Atmosphere of Togetherness

The Engineering Qurban is one of the routine activities of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) which was stopped during the pandemic. At the celebration of Eid al-Adha in 2022, the FTUI Ukhuwah and Islamic Studies Forum (FUSI) again held sacrificial animals, namely 6 cows and 2 goats (11/07). From the results of the slaughter of the sacrificial animals, more than 1700 packages of Qurban meat have been distributed to the academic community in the FTUI environment, residents in need from the Depok area to Tasikmalaya.

“The Engineering Qurban activity is one of the manifestations of the role of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education from FTUI. This activity is an activity that is sorely missed by the staff and the surrounding community. Especially, after the pandemic period of the past two years which has quite limited the movement of the academic community. I am grateful that the FTUI FUSI team has again taken the initiative to spread kindness this year,” said the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU.

This Qurban activity itself is an initiative of the FTUI Brotherhood and Islamic Studies Forum (FUSI) chaired by Rezky Alfian, a Mechanical Engineering student, in collaboration with the FUSI Foundation, DKM Musholla Teknik (Mustek NL) and fully supported by the faculty. Dean and Associate Dean of Cooperation, Venture and Alumni of FTUI, Dr.-Ing. Dalhar Susanto, each also entrusted a cow sacrifice.

In addition to the two names, several national figures who are also alumni of FTUI took part as donors for sacrificial animals in the “Qurban Teknik 1443 H.” The names are Arief Budhy Hardono (Indonesian Presidential Staff Office), Didi Ratam (Kadin & The Habibie Center), Gatot Prio Utomo (Indonesian Vice President’s Office), Prof. Kalamullah Ramli (ex. Director General of Communications and Information Technology), Dr. M. Salman ( Chairman of DKM Mustek NL FTUI), Johannur Barokh (Chairman of ILUNI Architecture), Ghofar Nazila (owner of Svarga Resort Lombok), Ferry Raviando (Business Manager of Cisco Systems) and Suryo Agus Trihasto (owner of SGold, Pondok Bambu, East Jakarta).

“Through the Slaughtering of Sacrificial Animals at the FTUI Depok Campus, it is hoped that the Ukhuwah and National Solidarity of alumni and FTUI leaders and their staff will be stronger. The cross-stakeholder collaboration in today’s activity is expected to provide benefits for employees, canteen traders in the FTUI environment and the wider community. Hopefully in the next opportunity this collaboration synergy will be more intense and will receive blessings from Allah SWT. Amen Yaa rabbal’aalamiin,” said Rezky.
