To Prepare Students to Live Study Abroad, FTUI Holds an Info Session for International Class Students

On March 17 2023, the International Office of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia (IO-FTUI) held an Information Session-Student Exchange, Study Abroad, and Double Degree Program events. At the event which was held at the K Building FTUI, various information about opportunities for lecture programs at foreign partner universities was given to students of the UI Faculty of Engineering.

In his remarks, the Deputy Dean for Education, Research and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Yanuar, M.Eng., M.Sc. said “We, from FTUI, will try to continue to collaborate, improve the existing system, especially for double degrees, we know that the academic rules and systems at UI and partner universities are different. And we strive to maintain Cooperation with partner Universities. So I hope that younger students can study seriously and maintain the good name of FTUI during their study board at partner universities.”

In a Presentation on Opportunities and Schemes for Student Exchange and Double Degree Programs, the Head of the Unit for Modernization and Internationalization of Education / IO-FT, Prof. Dr. Ir. Harinaldi, M.Eng stated “It needs to be underlined that international class is a class that is not a choice but a preferred choice, so if there are prospective students who want to enter international class it is because it is based on their wish. Currently, international class program students have the same quality and qualifications as their counterparts from regular and parallel undergraduate programs.”

Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU advised, “Currently, FTUI continues to make massive efforts to strengthen internationalization. In the future, we want to increase and expand degree program cooperation with well-known universities around the world. Currently, FTUI has also collaborated with UC Berkeley in America and continues to open a network of collaborations with other well-known universities.”

The most interesting session at this event was the sharing session and questions and answers related to the registration procedure for the fee-paying study abroad program by FTUI students, namely: Aliya Putri Maghfira, 2017 Industrial Engineering Department student, study abroad at the University of Bologna, Italy, Sintha Rafakarima, 2019 Mechanical Engineering Department student, study abroad at Hanyang University, South Korea, and Syifa Khaista Khairunnisa, 2019 Chemical Engineering Department student, study abroad at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Malaysia.

In addition, there was also a discussion on “Study in UDE” by Ms. Dita Adhitia, followed by a presentation on “Study in Australia” by Ms. Merry Kumiati Nathaniel, and ended with a discussion on “Study abroad program” by FTUI’s partner universities, namely Monash University and Queensland University of Technology (QUT).
