The Universitas Indonesia (UI) and Padang State University (UNP), which have the same commitment in the fields of health and information technology, agreed to collaborate as outlined in a cooperation agreement (PKS). The signing of the PKS was held on Tuesday (7/3), in the UI University Administrative Center, UI Depok Campus.
UI Deputy Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. err. nat. Abdul Haris said that this collaboration was in accordance with UI’s vision and mission to provide broad access to education for Indonesian people. “Hopefully the synergy of the two universities can encourage increased knowledge and quality of education in Indonesia that implements the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),” said Prof. Harris.
Regarding the implementation of joint learning in the field of information technology in the Informatics Study Program and the Informatics Engineering Education Study Program, the collaboration was signed by the Director of the Continuing Education Program–Center for Computing and Information Technology (CEP-CCIT) Faculty of Engineering (FT) UI, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Suryanegara, S.T., M.Sc., IPU, and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering (FT) UNP, Dr. Fahmi Rizal, M.Pd., M.T.
“In this collaboration, joint learning will be carried out for students of the Informatics Study Program and Informatics Engineering Education Study Program for a certain duration (maximum 4 semesters) at CEP-CCIT FTUI, or until completing college. Registration and selection will be opened for prospective students of the Informatics Study Program and Informatics Engineering Study Program who take part in this collaboration program,” said the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU who also attended the event.
Prof. Muhammad Suryanegara also explained, “The curriculum will be set for learning for a maximum of four semesters at CEP-CCIT FTUI and during learning in the Informatics Study Program and Informatics Engineering Education Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, UNP. Learning management and other matters will also be implemented to support the success of learning. At the end of the study, a certificate of expertise in Information Technology will be issued by CEP-CCIT FTUI and a bachelor’s degree (S1) will be issued by UNP.”
In addition to the field of informatics engineering, cooperation is also established in the development of educational, research and community service activities in the field of public health. In this case, the PKS was signed by the Dean of the Faculty of Health, Nursing, UI, Agus Setiawan, S.Kp., M.N., D.N., and the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology and Health, UNP, Dr. Suryanef, M.Sc.
UNP Chancellor, Prof. Drs. Ganefri, M.Pd., Ph.D., said that this collaboration was carried out to prepare the Faculty of Medicine and Human Resources, as well as strengthen the long-established partnership. One of these collaborations is a collaboration with FTUI regarding the development of Vocational education to improve the quality of implementing Higher Education’s Tri Dharma. “UI has always been our source of inspiration and innovation, including in this collaboration,” said Prof. Ganefri.
The signing of this collaboration was also attended by the UI Deputy Chancellor for Research and Innovation, drg. Nurtami, Ph.D., Sp,OF(K); Deputy Chancellor for HR and Assets, Prof. Dr. Ir. Dedi Priadi, DEA; Dean of the Faculty of Medicine UI, Prof. Dr. dr. Ari Fahrial Syam, SpPD-KGEH., MMB; Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU; UI Cooperation Director, Dr. Toto Pranoto, S.E,, M.M.; Head of Campus Environmental Security Technical Implementation Unit, Ach. Mukhtarul Huda, S.H.I., S.H., M.Si; as well as ranks from UNP. On that occasion, representatives from UNP also visited the UI Health Sciences Cluster (RIK) and the UI Hospital (RS).
