UI was represented by Prof. Dr. Ir. Dedi Priadi, DEA, Vice-Rector for Human Resources and Assets, who also serves as the Acting Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, while Elsewedy Electric Indonesia was represented by Walid Tayel, Group Chief Human Resources Officer.
Elswedy Electric Indonesia is a provider of integrated infrastructure solutions, operating in five major business sectors: wires, cables & accessories, electrical products, engineering & construction, digital solutions, and infrastructure investment.
“This partnership is a great opportunity for us, as Universitas Indonesia is one of the most prestigious universities in Indonesia. We hope to discover the best talents, especially prospective engineers who are looking to build their careers with us,” said Walid Tayel, expressing his gratitude to the audience during his opening remarks.
In his speech, Prof. Dedi also stated, “Today marks an important collaboration between Universitas Indonesia and Elsewedy Electric Indonesia. This partnership reflects the strong connection between academia and industry, and we are proud to work together to provide better career development opportunities for our students. The industry is evolving rapidly, and through this collaboration, we aim to equip our students with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the global market.”
The collaboration agreement was signed by both parties, represented by Prof. Dedi from Universitas Indonesia and Walid Tayel from Elsewedy Electric Indonesia. Also present were Prof. Ir. Mahmud Sudibandriyo, M.Sc., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration, John Barsoum, Sector Human Resources Director, and Ade Arief Tri Rachmanto, Head of Human Resources at PT Elsewedy Electric Indonesia.
Following the signing, several representatives from Elsewedy Electric gave presentations. Jana Elsewedy, Employer Branding Specialist at Elsewedy Electric Group, presented on Elsewedy Electric and the GDP Program, Ade Arief Tri Rachmanto discussed Elsewedy Electric Indonesia, and Sara Badawy, Group Instructional Design Senior Specialist at Elsewedy Electric Group, delivered a training session titled Navigating Emotions.
In a separate statement, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU, Dean of FTUI, expressed his gratitude to Elsewedy Electric Indonesia for the collaboration. “I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to all parties involved. I hope this event inspires future engineers from FTUI to pursue their dreams, and I hope the partnership between Universitas Indonesia and Elsewedy Electric continues to flourish. We hope this collaboration will grow, bringing mutual benefits to both institutions and, most importantly, to our students and alumni, who represent the future of our society.”
