The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman Student Section in collaboration with Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman Student Chapter together with Department of Civil Engineering, Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science (LKC-FES) are pleased to invite you to participate in the UTAR Structural Earthquake Stability (SES) Competition 6.0 on 15th February 2020. The details of the event are as follows:
Date : 15th February 2020
Time : 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m
Venue : Multipurpose Hall, UTAR KB Block, Sungai Long Campus
Targeted players : Undergraduate students
Members per team : 3-5 members
Registration fees : RM130 per team
Closing date of entry: 15th January 2020
The main objective of this competition is to promote the practical experience of earthquake engineering through a small-scale structural model to the undergraduate and in the meantime to enhance students’ engineering knowledge, management skill, creativity and innovation in designing a cost-effective structure to resist seismic loading. Each team shall be comprised of at least 3 and at most of 5 undergraduates including 1 team leader/contact person.
**The Rules & Regulations will be sent to all participants by 31st December 2019**

Prizes will be awarded as listed below:
i) Champion : RM1800
ii) 1st Runner-up : RM1400
iii) 2nd Runner-up : RM1100
iv) Consolation prize x 2 groups : RM400
v) Most cost-effective design : RM300
vi) Most efficient construction : RM300
vii) Best presentation & poster : RM300
