Capacity Building 2022: FTUI Strengthens Cohesiveness to Welcome New Normal

Capacity Building is one of the annual agendas held by the UI Faculty of Engineering to increase the cohesiveness, intimacy, and togetherness of FTUI employees. In 2022, to be precise on August 22-23, FTUI’s Capacity Building will be held again in Bali Province with 193 participants from 7 Departments, and various Work Units, as well as Ventures within FTUI.

This 2022 Capacity Building activity feels special because it has only been held again after 2 years of being stopped due to the pandemic. The journey from Jakarta to Bali is reached by using air transportation. The group was divided into 6 different airline groups from Soekarno-Hatta Cengkareng airport to I Gusti Ngurah Rai airport in Bali. The Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU; Vice Dean for Education, Research and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Yanuar, M.Eng., M.Sc.; and Deputy Dean for Resources, Ventures and General Administration, Prof. Ir. Mahmud Sudibandriyo, M.Sc., Ph.D. along with the leadership of other FTUI faculties and departments, were also present in this Capacity Building activity.

The group arrived in Bali at around 10.00 WITA, then left for Nasi Tempong Indra for lunch using 6 buses. After lunch, the group headed to Tanah Lot to take part in Capacity Building activities. The activity started with ice breaking and continued with games that required cohesiveness and good cooperation between team members. Some of the games that were held included passing through rope nets, lifting tennis balls with ropes, making bridge paths from wooden boards, and doing tarpaulin racing competitions.

At 16.30, the game ended and the event continued with a break and dinner at the De Jukung Tanah Lot restaurant. The dinner was enlivened by singing, door prizes, and the delivery of tendik’s aspirations in the routine agenda of the Dean Greet FTUI’s Employees.

When giving a speech, Prof. Heri conveyed his enthusiasm to continue to make excellent and impactful contributions to FTUI, “If you compare it, tendons are like a mosaic of spears. Maybe people see only the tip of the spear, even though behind the spear there are spear handles, screws, and other parts, each of which has a special role in it. Therefore, after this event, let us together welcome a new era, the new normal era, and let us provide excellence so that the engineering faculty becomes even better.”

In the middle of the dinner, FTUI gave a retirement award as well as the release of five education staff who this year entered retirement. Presented directly by the Dean and the direct leadership of the unit where the instructor serves, this award is a thank you from FTUI to the students for their contribution to the Faculty of Engineering UI. The five employees are:

1. Mr. Subali with 24 years of service,
2. Drs. Wahyudi Hidayat with 27 years of service,
3. Budi Pribadi with a working period of 22 years 7 months,
4. Herry Purwanto, S.Sos with 31 years and 6 months of service, and
5. Eko Prihanto, S.Sos. with 27 years and 8 months of service

On the second day, the group departed for the tourist destination of Penglipuran Village, located in Bangli Regency. By noon, the journey continues to Joni’s duck restaurant for lunch. After that, the group shopped for souvenirs at the Krisna shopping center before finally heading to the airport to return to Jakarta.
