The Indonesian Construction Experts Association (HAKI), in collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), organized the ACI Certification Program: Concrete Field Testing Technician. HAKI partnered with the American Concrete Institute (ACI), a certification body for professional construction engineers.
This Seminar and Certification activity was held in a marathon starting from August 19 to 24, 2023, located in the Smart Classroom of the Fire Ship, FTUI GK Building and the Structures and Materials Laboratory of the FTUI Civil Engineering Department. Apart from being attended by FTUI Civil Engineering Lecturers, this activity was also attended by civitas from other Civil Engineering Campuses, namely from the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Bandung Institute of Technology and the Civil Engineering Department of Diponegoro University.
Met on a separate occasion, the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU revealed, “Concrete Field Testing Certification is an important step in developing excellence and competence in the field of infrastructure and construction. In the partnership between FTUI and HAKI, we are committed to providing a high level of education and training and improving the quality of concrete field testing. This is a significant step in supporting Indonesia’s construction industry and ensuring the safety and sustainable quality of infrastructure.”
In his speech, Prof. Iswandi Imran, M.A.Sc., Ph.D., Chairman of HAKI said that HAKI participates in improving the professionalism of engineers in the construction sector so that the quality produced is also getting better.
“This certification is related to the condition of Indonesia which is very prone to earthquakes which have caused many buildings to collapse. It is realized that one of the problems is that the workforce engaged in construction has not fully referred to or met the provisions in the applicable standards, so we are going in that direction,” said Prof. Iswandi.
In addition to supporting certification for construction workers, experts from ACI also gave a presentation at the Seminar, Short Course, and HAKI Exhibition with the theme “The Importance of Professionalism Aspects in Construction Practice” at Borobudur Hotel August 22-24, 2023.
