The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), once again held its annual Capacity Building program for educational support staff, this year taking place in Lampung from August 6–8, 2026. The annual program was organized to strengthen camaraderie, enhance work motivation, and foster communication and synergy among units across FTUI.
FTUI Capacity Building 2026 was attended by 211 participants from various departments and work units within FTUI, carrying the theme “Weaving Culture, Empowering People.” The theme reflects a shared commitment to strengthening a collaborative work culture while encouraging every staff member to continue developing their potential, contributing meaningfully, and delivering their best performance for the advancement of FTUI.
The program began on Thursday morning, August 6, 2026, as the participants departed from the UI Depok Campus for Merak Port, followed by a ferry crossing to Bakauheni Port, Lampung. Upon arrival at the hotel, participants attended a motivational session entitled “Working Professionally and Positively toward Productive Performance,” featuring Kunto Wibisono, S.E., M.Si., CHRA., CP. NLP., at the Ballroom of Grand Mercure Lampung Hotel. Participants were encouraged to develop a growth mindset, self-awareness, and work motivation as a foundation for achieving more productive performance.
That evening, the spirit of togetherness continued during the Gala Dinner, which opened with an MC-led session and featured a report from the Chair of the Capacity Building Committee, followed by remarks from Dr.-Ing. Ir. Dalhar Susanto, Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration at FTUI. On this occasion, FTUI also expressed its appreciation to staff members entering retirement and announced the winners of the staff satisfaction survey. The evening concluded with a musical drama performance collaboratively presented by all units across the Faculty of Engineering, followed by a quiz with door prizes.
On the second day, participants were invited to enjoy a marine tourism experience on Pahawang Island, with several watersport activities available at the participants’ own expense. The activity provided an opportunity for relaxation while strengthening informal interactions among staff members beyond their daily work routines.
On the third day, the group went souvenir shopping for local Lampung specialties at Aneka Sari Rasa, followed by lunch at Sambal Lalak Restaurant. Before returning to Depok, the group stopped at BSI Bakauheni Mosque to perform the Dhuhr prayer and take photographs at Siger Tower, a cultural icon of Lampung Province.
Through the successful implementation of the Capacity Building program, FTUI hopes that the sense of togetherness, work motivation, and inter-unit synergy developed throughout the activities will continue to be maintained and contribute positively to staff performance. This is in line with FTUI’s commitment to creating a healthy, collaborative, and high-performing work environment as it strives to become a world-class faculty of engineering.
