FTUI Organizes Public Lecture with Vinilon Group

On Monday (29/04), the Environmental Engineering Study Program, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (DSTL) at FTUI held a guest lecture by inviting speakers from Vinilon Group. The event took place at Makara 04 Smart Meeting Room.

“I appreciate Vinilon Group for bringing equipment for today’s demonstration. I hope that the students can focus and follow all the events. Additionally, I hope that the students can actively participate and learn a lot from this public lecture,” said Dr.-Ing. Sucipta Laksono, S.T., M.T., as a lecturer of Environmental Engineering at FTUI, in his welcome speech.

Vinilon Group, as a manufacturer and distributor of pipes, has made significant contributions in Indonesia. Their pipes are installed all over Indonesia, including Papua. In addition to pipes, Vinilon Group also distributes many accessories.

As a speaker, Uza Sefridinata, Product Department Head of Vinion Group, was present. Uza presented a topic related to HDPE pipes in this public lecture. In his presentation, Uza said, “HDPE pipes have many advantages, including being flexible, lightweight, economical, and non-corrosive. Based on their function, these pipes are divided into three types: HDPE pipes for water, HDPE for gas, and HDPE for cable jackets. HDPE pipes can be joined using welding, flange, and mechanical techniques.”

After the material presentation, students watched and directly practised the demonstration of joining HDPE pipes. Next, there was a psychology test related to personality. Finally, students were equipped with knowledge of how to write a good CV.

The Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU., expressed his gratitude, saying, “We would like to thank Vinilon Group for conducting this public lecture in a very interactive and informative manner. This public lecture is very comprehensive as the students receive a wide range of knowledge. I hope that the students can absorb all the knowledge they have gained and apply it in their studies and future careers.”
