Innovation Into Invention (i3) is a prestigious program from the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) for UI students, especially FTUI students who have business ideas and are interested in developing these ideas into a business. In this program, participants will be given intensive training from FTUI alumni mentors who have developed and run their start-ups or have experience in areas related to the participants’ business ideas.
“UI has established itself as an Entrepreneurial University. The FTUI i3 program is a manifestation of one of FTUI’s priority flagship programs, namely the development of entrepreneurship for students. This business incubation program has been implemented since 2022 under the FTUI Entrepreneurship and Innovation unit which focuses on strengthening technical entrepreneurship, as one of the efforts to increase interest in entrepreneurship within FTUI,” said the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU.
In 2022, i3 activities were carried out in a hybrid manner and succeeded in capturing 10 potential teams. For 2023, registration for the FTUI Innovation Into Invention (i3) program opens on May 29 and will close on June 29 2023. To register for this program, each participant is required to upload a business proposal to be developed. With this business proposal, the participants will get a mentor who is by the background of the business to be developed.
After the registration period, the selected participants will be announced on June 30 2023. Then the participants will get a training session to develop their business until it becomes a prototype. This training will be held three times, every week starting from 8-22 July 2023. With this program, it is hoped that the participants can grow into entrepreneurs who continue to develop innovation.
