Halal bihalal FTUI 1445 H

Like in previous years, this year FTUI once again held the Halal bi halal event after the Eid al-Fitr holiday of 1445 H. This gathering was held on Tuesday (16/04) at the Rotunda Garden of FTUI. This event is a yearly tradition of FTUI aimed at strengthening bonds, fostering togetherness, and enhancing the sense of brotherhood among the faculty members, staff, and students of FTUI. Attended by over 400 FTUI members, the Halal bi halal event commenced with greetings and exchanges accompanied by the Hadroh performance by the UI PLK team.

The Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU., expressed in his speech, “On behalf of the FTUI management, I convey taqabbalallahu minna wa minkum, minal aidin wal faidzin, and seek forgiveness both in words and in heart. In a year of interaction, nothing is perfect; there are bound to be mistakes and imperfections. This Eid day presents an opportunity to forgive each other and together move towards a better future for the progress of FTUI.”

Prof. Heri also shared some joyful news regarding several achievements of the academic community of FTUI. “Four study fields of FTUI have been recognized as the best Engineering Departments in Indonesia according to the QS World University Ranking (WUR) 2024. Chemical Engineering and Architecture maintain their positions as the best study fields for two consecutive years. Meanwhile, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering have achieved the top rank this year. FTUI itself has improved its ranking from 335th globally last year to 320th this year. In Indonesia, FTUI holds the 2nd position, 11th in Southeast Asia, and 99th in Asia.”

Proud achievements were also presented by two international journals affiliated with FTUI, IJTech and Interiority. Based on the ranking released by Scimago Journal & Country Rank (SJR), IJTech is indexed in the highest quartile (Q1).

“This achievement repeats the feat of reaching the highest quartile in 2019. This accomplishment is once again achieved thanks to IJTech’s initiative to add the “Multidisciplinary” category to accommodate various multidisciplinary and collaborative research related to sustainable development. In this category, IJTech is the only international journal in Indonesia to successfully penetrate Q1,” stated Prof. Heri.

As an expression of gratitude, Prof. Heri presented awards to the department heads who achieved the highest ranking, namely Dr. Ir. Achmad Hery Fuad, M.Eng., Head of the Architecture Department; Dr. Bambang Heru Susanto, ST., MT., Head of the Chemical Engineering Department; Dr. Agus Sunjarianto Pamitran, ST., M.Eng., Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department; and Dr. Eng. Arief Udhiarto, S.T., M.T., Head of the Electrical Engineering Department. Awards were also given to the representatives of the Board of Editors of IJTech, Nyoman Suwartha, M.T., M.Agr., Ph.D., and Dr. Eng. Ir. Muhammad Arif Budiyanto, S.T., M.T., IPM.
